Stropkov District (okres Stropkov) is a district in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was mostly part of the county of Kingdom of Hungary of Zemplín, apart from an area in the north west around Duplín, Tisinec, Krušinec, Výškovce, Vislava, Oľšavka, Gribov and Kožuchovce which formed part of the county of Šariš.
According to the 2011 Census, 16,719 people in the Stropkov District were Slovak, 1,375 were Ruthenian, and 1,233 were Roma.[3] Also according to the 2011 Census 9,351 people were Roman Catholic, and 8,034 were Greek Catholic, and 1,370 were Orthodox.[4]
