Song of the Snowy explained
Song of the Snowy is an Australian musical by Edmond Samuels, best known for The Highwayman. It had a background of the Snowy Mountains Scheme.[1] [2]
The musical had its world premiere as a piece for ABC radio in 1956.[3]
One reviewer stated "It sounded like “The Maid of the Mountains,” “Rose Marie” and “The Girl of the Golden West” all rolled into one: with romance. New Australians, heroic guides, noble sentiments about this great national undertaking, and everything."
Premise
A love story between a girl skier and an engineer on the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
