Sir Timothy John Le Cocq (born 1956) is a Jersey lawyer who is the current Bailiff of Jersey.[3] He was sworn in on 17 October 2019.[4]
Le Cocq was born in Jersey on 9 December 1956.[5]
He went to school at Beaulieu Convent School and De La Salle College.[6] In 1980, he graduated with a BA Hon Law Psychology from Keele University.[7]
Le Cocq was called to the English Bar in 1981 and to the Jersey Bar in 1985.
He was a Crown Advocate 1996–2008, HM Solicitor General 2008–09, Attorney General 2009–15
Le Cocq served as Deputy Bailiff 2015–19.[8] He was appointed Bailiff in 2019.
Le Cocq was knighted in the 2022 Birthday Honours for services to Jersey.
In October 2024, Le Cocq announced that he would be retiring as Bailiff on 17 October 2025, six years to the day from his appointment in 2019.[9]
