Sharon Lubinski Explained
Sharon Jeannette Lubinski (July 11, 1952 – April 19, 2024) was an American law enforcement official who was the United States Marshal for the District of Minnesota. She was the first openly lesbian United States Marshal.[1]
Early life and education
Lubinski earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a master's degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.[2]
Career
On October 13, 2009, President Barack Obama nominated Lubinski to serve as United States Marshal for the District of Minnesota.[2] She was sworn into office on January 15, 2010.[3] Lubinski retired on December 31, 2016.[4] [5]
Death
Lubinski died on April 19, 2024, at the age of 71.[6] [7]
