Salim Touahri (born September 28, 1989) is a Polish mixed martial artist who competed in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Touahri amassed a professional mixed martial arts record of 10-1 by fighting mainly within the Polish regional MMA circuit as well as once within Russia before signing for the UFC in October 2017.[2] [3]
Touahri made his UFC debut as a short-notice opponent against Warlley Alves on October 21, 2017 at .[4] [5] [6] He lost the fight via unanimous decision.[7]
Touahri was expected to face Brad Scott on 27 May 2018 at .[8] [9] However, Touahri pulled out of the fight citing a knee injury.[10] [11]
Touahri then faced Keita Nakamura on December 1, 2018 at .[12] [13] He lost the fight via split decision.[14]
Touahri was expected to face Zelim Imadaev on August 3, 2019 at .[15] However, on June 9 it was announced that Touahri would face Mickey Gall instead whilst no reason for the change was provided.[16] He lost the fight via unanimous decision.[17]
Touahri was released by the UFC in February 2020.[18] [19]
Touahri was arrested in February 2020 on charges alleging his involvement in the trade of illegal substances.[20] [21] [22] He was released without bail in 2021 after the court decided that prosecution's case is based solely on testimonies of a criminal convicted earlier for lying under oath[23]
