Uralla Shire Council is composed of two wards, each electing four councillors, as well as a directly elected mayor. The entire election (including the mayoral election) was uncontested.
Two referendums went ahead − one asking about the removal of the direct mayoral election, and another asking about the removal of the wards.[12] Voters chose not to remove the mayoral election, but supported the removal of wards, and Uralla will be an undivided council at the 2028 election.[13] [14]
