It aims to uphold and defend the rights of children in the state.[3] It oversees the enforcement of laws related to children, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, as outlined in Section 13, 14, and 15 of the CPCR Act, 2005, and Section 9 of the RCPCR Rules, 2010.[4]
