Patrick MacNicholas explained

Patrick MacNicholas should not be confused with Patrick McNicholas.

Patrick MacNicholas^[1] (1780 – 1852)^[2] was an Irish^[3] Roman Catholic clergyman^[4] who served as Bishop of Achonry^[5] from 1818 until his death.^[6]

MacNicholas was ordained in 1804.^[7] He was buried at the Old Cemetery, Ballaghaderreen^[8] but then re-interred at St Nathy's.
