Oʻzbekiston ovozi (Cyrillic: Ўзбекистон овози, ru|Голос Узбекистана, transliterated Golos Uzbekistana, en|Voice of Uzbekistan) also spelt as Uzbekistan Ovozi, is an Uzbek language newspaper published in Uzbekistan. It is run by the government.[1] [2] [3]
The name of the newspaper has been changed many times throughout history; it was originally founded in 1918 with the name Ishtirokiyun (en|Communist), then was renamed to Qizil bayroq (en|Red Banner) in 1920, Turkiston (en|Turkistan) in 1922, Qizil Oʻzbekiston (en|Red Uzbekistan) in 1924, then to Sovet Oʻzbekistoni (en|Soviet Uzbekistan) in 1964, and then finally to Oʻzbekiston ovozi (en|Voice of Uzbekistan) in 1991.[4]
