Nyūno Station is served by the JR West Sanyō Main Line, and is located 259.5 kilometers from the terminus of the line at .
The station consists of two unnumbered opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge. The station is unattended and the former office space is used as a local community hall.
Nyūno Station was opened on 13 July 1917 as the . It was updated to a full station on 25 December 1953. With the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR West.
In fiscal 2019, the station was used by an average of 211 passengers daily.[2]
