Natasha Mitchell is an Australian science journalist.[1] She currently hosts the Radio National program Big Ideas, which presents lectures, panels and podcast episodes on ideas or issues and was initially presented by Australian journalist Paul Barclay.[2]
Mitchell was a Knight Science Journalism Fellow in 2005/2006.[3]
Mitchell was vice-president of the[World Federation of Science Journalists from 2011-2013.<ref name="World Federation of Science Journalists - Members of the Executive Board 2011-2013 ">{{cite web|url=http://www.wfsj.org/about/page.php?id=190|title=Members of the Executive Board 2011-2013 |publisher=World Federation of Science Journalists|accessdate=27 October 2013}}</ref> She was elected to the Federation's executive board in 2009.<ref name="MIT - 10 July 2009 - WFSJ elects Mitchell, Roman to board">{{cite web|url=http://ksj.mit.edu/seminars-news/news/wfsj-elects-mitchell-roman-board|title=WFSJ elects Mitchell, Roman to board|date=10 July 2009|work=Knight Science Journalism program|publisher=[[Massachusetts Institute of Technology]]|accessdate=27 October 2013|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20131030000451/http://ksj.mit.edu/seminars-news/news/wfsj-elects-mitchell-roman-board|archivedate=30 October 2013|df=dmy-all}} She was a founding committee member of the Science Journalists Association of Australia from 2019-2021.[4]
Mitchell was founding host and producer of the ABC Radio National podcast Science Friction from 2017-2023, and founding host of the ABC Radio show All In The Mind, one of the ABC's first podcasts.[5] She was also host of the ABC radio show Life Matters, a program first broadcast in 1992 and initially presented by Geraldine Doogue.[6]
