Montecosaro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Macerata in the Italian region Marche, located about 35km (22miles) southeast of Ancona and about 15km (09miles) east of Macerata.
Montecosaro borders the following municipalities: Civitanova Marche, Montegranaro, Montelupone, Morrovalle, Potenza Picena, Sant'Elpidio a Mare. It is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy").[2] Among the religious buildings in the town are:
