Micromidia Explained

Micromidia is a genus of dragonflies in the superfamily Libelluloidea.[1] They are small to medium-sized dragonflies, coloured black or metallic green with pale markings, and endemic to eastern Australia.[2]

The genus Micromidia includes the following species:

Taxonomy

Recent taxonomic research could not assign the genus Micromidia to any family and it was placed incertae sedis within the superfamily Libelluloidea.[3]

Prior to this, Micromidia had been considered to be part of one of several families: Austrocorduliidae, Synthemistidae or Corduliidae.[4]
