Medford, Indiana Explained

Medford is the former name of an unincorporated community in Delaware County, Indiana. It is located about 5miles to the southeast of Muncie, just east of U.S. Route 35, and about 1.2 miles west of New Burlington.

History

The post office in Medford was once called Phillips.[1] The Phillips post office operated from 1903 until 1908.[2] One source speculates Medford is named after Medford, Maine.[3]
