Max Asher, born Max Ascher,[1] (May 5, 1885 – April 15, 1957) was an American actor whose career spanned the early silent film era to talkies in the early 1930s. His career began on stage.[2] [3] He appeared in various comedic shorts. He was 5feet tall, and weighed more than . In the 1920s he transitioned to character actor roles.[4]
He was born in Oakland.
Asher was part of Universal Pictures' Joker Comedy unit with Gale Henry and Milburn Morante.[5] Asher appeared in a title role with Henry in Lady Baffles and Detective Duck[6] and 12 short films produced by Pat Powers in 1915.
He died in Los Angeles.[7] [8]
