Marganlar (fa|مرگنلر) is a city in, and the capital of, Qarah Quyun District of Showt County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran.[2] It also serves as the administrative center for Qarah Quyun-e Jonubi Rural District.[3] The city is the merger of the villages of Margan-e Azizabad, Margan-e Esmail Kandi, Margan-e Qadim, and Margan-e Vasat.[2]

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the population (as the total of its constituent villages before their merger) was 2,423 in 533 households, when it was in Qarah Quyun-e Jonubi Rural District of the former Showt District of Maku County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 2,247 people in 615 households,[5] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Showt County. The villages merged to form the new city of Marganlar, and the rural district was transferred to the new Qarah Quyun District.[2] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 2,294 people in 642 households.[6]
