Lubań is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nowa Karczma, within Kościerzyna County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 4km (02miles) south-west of Nowa Karczma, 120NaN0 east of Kościerzyna, and 420NaN0 south-west of the regional capital Gdańsk. It is located within the historic region of Pomerania.
During the German occupation of Poland (World War II), Lubań was one of the sites of executions of Poles, carried out by the Germans in 1939 as part of the Intelligenzaktion.[2] In 1939, the Germans also carried out expulsions of Poles.[3] Local Polish teachers were murdered in the Dachau concentration camp.[4]
