8,000 metres
There are 14 mountains over 8000m (26,000feet), which are often referred to as the Eight-thousanders. (Some people have claimed there are six more 8,000m peaks in Nepal, making for a total of 20.[1]) All are in the two highest mountain ranges in the world, the Himalayas and the Karakoram.
