The diocese covers the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens.[1] [2] Churches in the rest of New York City (Manhattan, Staten Island and the Bronx) are part of the Archdiocese of New York.; see the List of churches in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York.
The diocesan cathedral is the Cathedral Basilica of St. James in Downtown Brooklyn and its co-cathedral is the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph in Prospect Heights.
