On August 12, 2009, VH1 began casting for a second season of Scream Queens.[2] Season 2 began shooting in November 2009 and premiered in August 2010, with the winner gaining a role in Saw 3D also known as Saw VII, the next entry in the Saw franchise.[3] Jaime King replaced Shawnee Smith as mentor and host, while Tim Sullivan replaced James Gunn as the director.[4]
