Karabayır (syr|Zangan) is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Dargeçit, Mardin Province in Turkey.[1] The village is populated by Kurds of the Erebiyan tribe and had a population of 1,020 in 2021.[2]
Zangan (today called Karabayır) was historically inhabited by Syriac Orthodox Assyrians. In 1915, there were 30 Assyrian families. Amidst the Sayfo, they were killed by the Ali Rammo tribe.
