The Kalkutan (kk|Қалқұтан / Qalqūtan) or Koluton (ru|Колутон) is a river of the Akmola Region, Kazakhstan. It has a length of 223km (139miles) and the size of its basin is 17400sqkm.[1]
The Kalkutan is a right tributary of the Ishim. It has its sources in lake Shortankol, by Novorybinka village. The river flows roughly westwards all along its course. It joins the right bank of the Ishim a little to the north of Kalkutan railway station.Its main tributaries are the 68km (42miles) long Talkara, the 171km (106miles) long Boksyk, the 48km (30miles) long Ashchysai, and the 174km (108miles) long Arshaly from the right.[2]
