Julia Hayter is a Canadian politician from the Alberta New Democratic Party who was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Calgary-Edgemont in the 2023 Alberta general election.[3] As of June 21, 2024, she serves as the Official Opposition critic for Status of Women.
Hayter received a developmental disability certificate from the College of New Caledonia in Prince George, British Columbia She worked at the Calgary Board of Education until 2023. She has also worked as a community outreach specialist with Vecova Centre for Disability Services and Research, a disability focused charity in Calgary, Alberta.[4] Hayter served as chair and vice-chair on her children’s school council from 2017 to 2019.
Hayter had worked on election campaigns around Calgary, as well as having worked as a constituency assistant for a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.[5]
