Joe Paul James Robertson[1] is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the Isle of Wight East constituency since 2024.[2]
Joe Robertson grew up on the Island and went to school in Ryde.[3] He read Geography at UCL between 2003-2006. Between 2008-2010 he studied at BPP Law School before being called to the Bar by Middle Temple in 2010.[4]
Robertson was elected to Isle of Wight Council in 2021. He served as the Conservative group leader between 2021[5] and 2023.[6]
He was selected as the Conservative parliamentary candidate in June 2023 for the newly created Isle of Wight East constituency[7] as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies.
In the 2024 United Kingdom general election Robertson was elected to Parliament as MP for Isle of Wight East with 30.6% of the vote and a majority of 3,323.[8]
Robertson grew up on the Island and went to school in Ryde.[9] He is a qualified family solicitor and worked for Dementia UK as a legal and governance advisor.[10]
Robertson lives in St Helens and is married with two children.[11] [12]
