Jessica Triebeľová (born 11 April 2001) is a Slovak boxer. She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Jessica Triebeľová was born on 11 April 2001 in the village of Klin in the Námestovo District. She started boxing at the age of nine.[1]
Triebeľová was the Slovakia's flag bearer at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. However, after being eliminated in the first round, both Triebeľová herself and her father and coach Peter Triebeľ contemplated ending her career due to complains about refereeing.[2] [3] Nonetheless, she decided to continue boxing a won 4 gold medals from European Championships in junior categories. She also won the Golden Girl tournament in Sweden.[4]
At her first senior competition, the 2023 European Games in Poland, she was eliminated in the round of 16. At the 2024 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Belgrade, Triebeľová won the bronze medal.[5]
Triebeľová secured a spot at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris with a 3:2 victory over the French boxer Emilie Sonvico at the 2024 World Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament 2 in Bangkok.[6] She became the first woman to compete in boxing for Slovakia at the Olympics.
