Ion Atodiresei (born 14 May 1952) is a Romanian former football forward.[1]

Club career

Ion Atodiresei was born on 14 May 1952 in Arad, Romania, starting to play football at local club, Teba, moving in 1966 at neighboring club, UTA Arad.[1] He made his Divizia A debut under coach Nicolae Dumitrescu on 4 May 1969 in a 2–1 away loss in front of Politehnica Iași, making one more appearance until the end of the season as the club won the title. In the following season, Dumitrescu used him in three games as UTA won another championship.[1]

In 1970 he went to play for one season at Divizia B club, Vagonul Arad.[1] Afterwards he signed with FCM Reșița where he would spend the rest of his career, helping the club earn promotion to the first league from his first season.[1] In the 1974–75 season, Atodiresei scored a personal record of seven goals.[1] On 15 June 1978 he made his last Divizia A appearance in Reșița's 4–0 away loss in front of Steaua București, having a total of 179 matches with 19 goals scored in the competition.[1]

International career

From 1973 until 1975, Ion Atodiresei made 11 appearances for Romania's under-23 side.[2]

In 1976 he played one match for Romania's national team, being used by coach Ștefan Kovács in a 1–1 friendly against Czechoslovakia.[3] [4]
