Gregory Junior (born June 21, 1999)[1] is an American professional football cornerback for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played at Crossett High School in Crossett, Arkansas, and played college football for the Ouachita Baptist Tigers.

College career

Junior played college football at Ouachita Baptist. During his senior season in 2021, he recorded 46 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and seven pass breakups.[2]

Professional career

Jacksonville Jaguars

Junior was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, becoming the first player to be drafted to the NFL from Ouachita Baptist.[3] [4] He was waived on August 30 and signed to the practice squad the next day.[5] [6] He was promoted to the active roster on December 19.[7]

On September 16, 2023, Junior was placed on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1.[8] He was activated on November 11, 2023.[9]

On August 6, 2024, the Jaguars waived Junior with an injury designation.[10]

Indianapolis Colts

On September 17, 2024, Junior signed with the Indianapolis Colts practice squad.[11] He was released on October 7.[12]

Houston Texans

On October 14, 2024, Junior was signed to the Houston Texans practice squad.[13]
