Frederick James Beeson (22 October 1901 – 3 August 1956) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL).[1]

Family

The son of John Charles Beeson (1876-1906),[2] [3] and Agnes Louisa Beeson (1879-1952), née Schwab,[4] later Mrs. George Edward Lawton,[5] Frederick James Beeson was born at Kensington, Victoria on 22 October 1901.[6]

He married Lillian Emilie Maynard (1908-1994) in 1928.[7]

Football

Beeson was recruited from the Benalla Football Club, where he kicked 68 goals in the Ovens and Murray Football League in 1923.[8]

Beeson kicked two goals on his VFL debut with Fitzroy against Carlton up until he was injured.[9]

He later played for Coburg, Northcote, and Yarraville.[10]

Boxing

Beeson was also an amateur boxer.[11]
