Eurylaimus Explained
Eurylaimus is a genus of broadbills (family Eurylaimidae) found in Southeast Asia.
Taxonomy
The genus Eurylaimus was introduced in 1821 by the American naturalist Thomas Horsfield to accommodate the banded broadbill (Eurylaimus javanicus).[1] [2] The name means 'broad throat', from the Greek Greek, Ancient (to 1453);: eurus (Greek, Ancient (to 1453);: [[wikt:εὐρύς|εὐρύς]], 'broad, wide') and Greek, Ancient (to 1453);: laimos (Greek, Ancient (to 1453);: [[wikt:λαιμός|λαιμός]], 'throat').[3]
