Dixon is an election precinct, or township equivalent, in Edwards County, Illinois. As of the 2020 Census the population was 221.[2]
According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Dixon Precinct has a total area of 24.06sqmi, of which 24.05sqmi (or 99.95%) is land and 0.01sqmi (or 0.05%) is water.[3]
As of the 2020 census there were 221 people, 145 households, and 110 families residing in the precinct. The population density was 9.18PD/sqmi. There were 110 housing units at an average density of 4.57/sqmi. The racial makeup of the precinct was 97.29% White, 0.45% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.26% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.45% of the population.
There were 145 households, out of which 35.90% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.86% were married couples living together, none had a female householder with no spouse present, and 24.14% were non-families. 24.10% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.10% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.83.[4]
The precinct's age distribution consisted of 24.9% under the age of 18, 2.0% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 39.9% from 45 to 64, and 4.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
