Publication history

Created by writer Andrew Kreisberg and artist David Baron, the character made her first appearance in Green Arrow and Black Canary #15 (February 2009).[1]

Fictional character biography

Carrie Cutter is a special ops soldier who works for the top-secret program COBALT.[2] She volunteers for a program that will eliminate her fear, but instead makes her emotionally unstable.[3]

As Cupid, Cutter murders several minor enemies of Green Arrow in an attempt to gain his affection.[4] This attracts the attention of crime boss Brick, who she kills with a wrecking ball.[5] [6] [7]

Cupid works with Everyman, who has sustained amnesia and believes himself to be Green Arrow.[8] She later betrays and kills Everyman, declaring their relationship as "a rebound thing".[9]

Green Arrow and Black Canary later meet with COBALT engineer Victor Turlough to restore Cupid's sanity. She apologizes for her actions before COBALT agents take her away.

Powers and abilities

Cupid is an exceptional hand-to-hand combatant and possesses superhuman physical abilities.
