Colleen Wolstenholme Explained

Colleen Wolstenholme (born 31 May 1963 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian artist. Wolstenholme is best known for her sculptures of oversized pharmaceutical drugs.[1] [2]

Wolstenholme studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) between 1982 and 1986 and re-enrolled in 1989.[3] After completing her Master of Fine Arts degree at the State University of New York, she returned to NSCAD in 1996 to teach.

In 1997, Wolstenholme toured the rock festival Lilith Fair, with her long-time friend, Sarah McLachlan. Colleen had co-written a song on McLachlan's album Surfacing and earned a gold record.

Her work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada[4] and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.[5] Her public artwork Buspar Column, located near the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, is in the collection of the city of Montreal.[6]
