Cochlicella is a genus of small, narrow-shelled, air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Geomitridae,[1] previously placed in the Helicidae, Cochlicellidae or Hygromiidae.

Therefore it has been suggested that this species be given top national quarantine significance in the USA.[2]
