Chula Vista is located at 28.6533°N -100.4261°W (28.653362, -100.426004).[3]

Chula Vista was first listed as a census designated place under the name Rosita North in the 2010 U.S. Census. The CDP was renamed Chula Vista in the 2010 U.S. Census.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3,400 people, 813 households, and 765 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1111.8sp=usNaNsp=us. There were 961 housing units at an average density of 314.2sp=usNaNsp=us. The racial makeup of the CDP was 66.71% White, 0.32% African American, 0.97% Native American, 29.44% from other races, and 2.56% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 98.15% of the population.
There were 813 households, out of which 66.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 79.8% were married couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 5.8% were non-families. 4.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 2.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 4.18 and the average family size was 4.33.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 42.9% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 13.2% from 45 to 64, and 5.0% who were 65 years of age or older.
