Charles Walcott (ethologist) explained

Charles Walcott (1934-) is an ethologist and Professor Emeritus at Cornell University.[1] [2] He studied how spiders catch prey, as well as how pigeons home.[3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]

Early life and education

Walcott obtained his A.B. in biology in 1956 and his Ph.D. in zoology from Cornell in 1959.[9]

Career

He worked as an assistant professor at Harvard from 1961-1965 and then at Tufts until 1967. He then worked at SUNY Stony Brook until 1981. He returned to Cornell as full professor and the Director of the Ornithology lab in 1981, where he stayed until his retirement in 2016. He served as Dean of the University Faculty from 2003-2008. He was elected as a fellow to the AAAS in 2018.[10]

He also worked as a producer of nature TV shows for children for WGBH.[11]
