Cascilla is an unincorporated rural hamlet located in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi. Cascilla is approximately 7miles southeast of Paynes and approximately 6miles south of Charleston, at the intersection of Cascilla Road and Smith Road. There is a general store and post office along with several homes in the community.
Jamie L. Whitten, the second-longest serving U.S. Representative and the fifth-longest serving member of the U.S. Congress, was born in Cascilla.[1]
