Butters is a census-designated place (CDP) in Bladen County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 250.[3]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.4km2, of which 0.02sqkm, or 0.67%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 261 people, 108 households, and 77 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 201.1/mi2. There were 119 housing units at an average density of 91.7/mi2. The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.72% White, 4.60% African American, 2.30% from other races, and 0.38% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.30% of the population.
There were 108 households, out of which 35.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.4% were married couples living together, 11.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.8% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.88.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 23.8% under the age of 18, 8.0% from 18 to 24, 32.2% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
