Belenkoye (ru|Беленькое) is a salt lake in Tabunsky District, Altai Krai, Russian Federation.[1]
The lake lies at the western end of the Krai. Bolsheromanovka is located 4km (02miles) to the west of the western lakeshore and Tabuny, the district capital, lies 27km (17miles) to the SSW of the lake. Other inhabited places nearby are Georgiyevka, 6km (04miles) to the east, and Karpilovka 7km (04miles) to the south.[2]
Belenkoye is located in a residual depression of the Kulunda Plain. It has a roughly round shape, with a diameter of about 2.6km (01.6miles).[1] [3]
Lake Maloye Yarovoye lies 8km (05miles) to the ENE, Belenkoye (Slavgorod Municipality)[4] 23km (14miles) in the same direction, Bolshoye Yarovoye 21km (13miles) to the southwest, and lake Kulunda 25km (16miles) to the east.[2]
The lake is surrounded by flat steppe landscape, salt pans and cultivated fields. Artemia salina crustaceans live in the lake and are periodically harvested for commercial purposes.[5]
