The Australia SailGP Team is an Australian sailing team led by Tom Slingsby which participates in SailGP. They are 3-time champions, having won the first 3 seasons since the competition was formed in 2019.
Australia SailGP Team was established in 2019 by F50 League LLC as a part of the inaugural season of the SailGP competition.[1] [2]
It won the league's inaugural 2019 season, as well as the subsequent 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.[3] [4] [5]
The Australia SailGP Team is led by Driver Tom Slingsby, who also serves as the team's chief executive officer.[6]
Natasha Bryant and Nina Curtis currently share the role of Strategist and are part of the Women’s Pathway Programme.
Wing Trimmer Kyle Langford joined the team ahead of the inaugural season in 2019.
Jason Waterhouse is the team’s Flight Controller.
Sam Newton and Kinley Fowler are the two Grinders in the team.
Ed Powys serves as the reserve sailor.
Ben Durham serves as the team's coach. Ben was awarded for his efforts, winning the 2023 Australian Sailing Instructor and Coach of the Year. [7]
