Aspergillus persii explained

Aspergillus persii is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus which can cause onychomycosis.^[1] and otomycosis^[2]

It is from the Circumdati section.^[3] Aspergillus persii produces xanthomegnin and ochratoxin A.^{[4] [5] [6]}

Growth and morphology

A. persii has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
