Andrew Tendo Senyondwa[1] (born 22 July 1979[2]) is a Ugandan professional basketball coach and former player. He is the current head coach of City Oilers of the National Basketball League (NBL) and serves as assistant coach for the Uganda men's national team and has been the head coach for a short stint. Playing at guard, Tendo played for Falcons and City Oilers in his career.[3]
Tendo played for the Falcons between 1999 and 2007 and won five NBL championships. Later, he played for the City Oilers and captained the team until his retirement in 2016.[4]
Following his retirement, Tendo assumed the position of assistant coach for the City Oilers under Mandy Juruni. On 22 December 2023 Tendo was appointed head coach of the Oilers following Juruni's departure for Rwanda-based Kepler BBC.[5] He will coach them in their second season in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in April 2024.
Tendo coached the Uganda national under-16 team in 2023.[6] He became an assistant coach for the Uganda senior national team in 2023, re-uniting with Juruni.[7] He was the head coach for the AfroBasket qualifying window in 2023.[8]
Tendo is a lawyer by occupation.[9]
