Ali Abdo (politician) explained
Ali Abdo is an Ethiopian politician who served as mayor of Addis Ababa.[1] [2] [3] He was a member of the now defunct Oromo Democratic Party.[4]
Early life
Ali Abdo was born to a Warjih family. He graduated from Addis Ababa University, and in the 70s joined the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Party which opposed the Haile Selassie regime.[5]
Career
In the 90s he became the 26th mayor of the town of Addis Ababa and is known for simmering tensions within the Muslim community.[6]
