Abdul Hamid Mohtat (born 1944) is an Afghani former politician and military officer who served as Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister.[1]
Mohtat was born in 1944 in Parwan province.[2] He graduated from a military school in 1964 and was then got trained in Soviet Union as engineer. He also served as Minister of Communications[3] in 1973 but was dismissed in April 1974[4] [5] by Mohammed Daoud Khan.[6] In June 1978, he became ambassador of Afghanistan to Japan.[7] [8]
He was one of the Vice Presidents in Najibullah cabinet from May 1988 to April 1992.[9] He was also Deputy Prime Minister at that time.
