The 2025 United States elections are scheduled to be held, in large part, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The off-year election includes gubernatorial and state legislative elections in a few states, as well as numerous mayoral races, and a variety of other local offices on the ballot. Special elections to the United States Congress will take place if vacancies arise.

Three special elections are expected to be held in 2025 to fill vacancies during the 119th U.S. Congress.

State elections

Two states will hold lieutenant gubernatorial elections in 2025:

One-term Republican Winsome Sears is retiring to run for governor.[8]

Attorney general

One state will hold an attorney general election in 2025:

One-term Republican Jason Miyares is running for re-election.[9]

Supreme court

Two states will hold supreme court elections in 2025:

Three-term incumbent Ann Walsh Bradley will not seek re-election in 2025.[10]

Three Democratic justices are eligible to stand for retention election in 2025: Christine Donohue, David N. Wecht, and Kevin M. Dougherty.[11]

Superintendent

One state will hold a superintendent election in 2025:

One-term incumbent Jill Underly is running for re-election in 2025.[12]
