The 2024–25 season is the 158th season in the history of Chesterfield Football Club and their first season back in League Two since the 2017–18 season, following promotion from the National League the previous season. The club are participating in League Two, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy.

Pre-season and friendlies

On 25 April, Chesterfield announced their first pre-season friendly, against Matlock Town.[24] A month later, home fixtures against Sheffield United and Derby County were also confirmed.[25] [26] On June 21, a fourth friendly fixture was added, against Scunthorpe United.[27] Three days later, a home fixture versus Nottingham Forest was announced.[28]

League Two

On 26 June, the League Two fixtures were announced.[29]

FA Cup

Chesterfield were drawn at home to Horsham in the first round, [30] and then away to Exeter City in the second round.[31] [32]

EFL Cup

On 27 June, the draw for the first round was made, with Chesterfield being drawn away against Derby County.[33]

EFL Trophy

In the group stage, Chesterfield were drawn into Northern Group G alongside Grimsby Town, Lincoln City and Manchester City U21.[34] [35] In the round of 32, Chesterfield were drawn at home to Wigan Athletic.[36] [37]
