The 2016 South American Basketball Championship for Women was the 35th edition of the tournament. Nine teams participated in the competition, held in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, from 20 to 26 May 2016.[1]
In this round, the teams were drawn into two groups. The first two teams from each group advanced to the semifinals; the third teams advanced to the 5th place match.
